I am the Site Manager that looked after all of these projects over the last five years and am currently supervising the Zenith Project.

AK Group Qld did all frame, truss, firewalls, cladding, fix out and fit off on all of these projects. Andrew and his team of carpenters did all of the project carpentry works in a timely and professional manner. They have very good systems and each tradesman knows exactly what they should be doing each day and so the end result is they get the job done efficiently. Andrew is proactive in making sure he can help out with coordination of the construction program. I.e. delivery dates, crane bookings, scaffold, edge protection etc. Andrew is also happy to get involved with any design items that require his input. I.e. checking structural steel shop drawings to make sure we get the steel right. AK Group has done a great job on all of these projects to make sure they meet construction program and that is why Devcon Building Co continue to have them on site. I have no hesitation in recommending AK Group to another builder to carry out carpentry works.

Give the “lightweight” design approach of our firm which has evolved over several decades, HMA recognise the successful delivery of our projects relies heavily on a strong carpentry skill base, high standard of workmanship and attention to detail, along with an collaborative approach to problem solving of issues that arise on site. AK Group not only demonstrated each of these qualities in a highly competent manner, but were also pleased to contribute to the feedback loop in regards to cladding typologies, detailing and construction methodology considered for future projects.

With carpentry making up a significant part of the works, particularly of Townhouses and Terrace home projects, construction programmes also tend to hinge around the ability of the carpentry subcontract to meet construction programming. We believe that it is fair to say, that out of each of the Medium Density projects HMA have been involved in with Stockland, the 32 terrace homes at Newport have probably been delivered on the most ambitious and aggressive program, without compromising of quality.

It should also be said that our interactions with each of the subcontractors employees, have been professional, courteous and constructive in addressing the issues at hand.

Without hesitation, HMA can confidently say that the standard of overall product, finish and detail achieved throughout the project would not have been achieved without the knowledge, dedication, enthusiasm and skill of AK Group Qld and it’s employees.
